WALKING SIGHSEIING AT TERENGGANU????

Walking tour in terengganu??
I’m quiet surprise when I know that in Terengganu we all can also walk and seeing all the very interesting places. I just thing that only in Melaka and Penang that tourist can walk while sightseeing but my eyes were open after know this information so, I want to share with your guys also:
The walking route are started at the dazzling white Abidin mosque and only 2km long.

1                    1    ABIDIN MOSQUE
The original wooden mosque on this site was built by Sultan Zainal Abidin II. This building was completely build in 1808. Since then it has been rebuilt in brick and refurbished and expanded a number of times. The most striking feature of this mosque is a 7 storey minaret. Also some formers Sultans are buried in the adjoining Old Royal Mausoluem.
 

2                   2      MAZIAH PALACE
After Abidin mosque, the close place nearby is the Maziah Palace(Istana Maziah). This palace was built between around 1897 and 1903 as a residence and reception venue for the Terengganu royal family. This place also has been remodeled a number of times but the most recently is an addition of the two towers flanking the main entrance. This two tower given it a kind of theme park look. The palace was not open to the public but people can visit the mini park in front it.
Next you can turn left on to Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin and follow the road until you can see the Tourist Information Office. In this place you can obtain lots of information regarding hotels, resorts and famous places nearby.
 

3.   BAZAAR WARISAN
The next places near is Bazaar Warisan. This place a newly built shopping development that contain shop that sell souvenirs, batik, gifts and so on. Take the escalator(if there are working) up to the roof level and cross over to get to Princess Hill Fort (Bukit Puteri).


4.   BUKIT PUTERI
Hill with 200m high has a fort at its summit which was built in the 1830s. this place was serve as a defensive position during the civil wars between rival sultans vying for the Terengganu throne. The fort also contains a 10m high lighthouse and a cement  roofed stage in the shape of athrone. Although most of the cannon there were removed by the Japanese during WWII but there are still have a few cannons line at this place.
 

5    SEBERANG TAKIR
The photo below shown the rustic fishing village of Seberang Takir. You can take a boat at the jetty in front the Tourist Information Centre Office to take a look at the village if you want.


6.   CENTRAL MARKET (PASAR PAYANG)

This place where the traditional items like batik and silk are sold. Other things such as fruit, vegetables and cooked food product such as keropok lekor also has been sold here.

















7.   CHINATOWN
After walk from pasar Payang you can turning into Jalan Kampung Cina and will arrive at Chinatown area. This place is well known as the cleanest and neatest Chinatown in Malaysia.teh coloured brick will attract you along the street and pavements. The side alleys has given a facelit with mural and plaques adding the heritages feel to this area. The Shophouses  also been restored and carefully painted.






8.   HO ANN KIONG TEMPLE

This temple was build by the immigrants from Hokkien province of China in the years 1796-1821. It was rebuilt in 1915 in an effort to stave off an unknown disease that was ravaging the local here. The disease was disappeared after the temple been rebuilt. This temple also been renovated twice and now it look immaculate with the new carved stone cladding.
On a small hill opposite is the Royal Mausoleum that be said contain impressive headstones imported from Acheh in Sumatra. But, this places seem to be padlocked all the time.



9.   TERENGGANU WATERFRONT
Continuing walk along the river,there are places that will be transform into a new Waterfront area. This places will adding a new city’s attractions.

 Terengganu Traditional Foods....

                       
                      Assalamualaikum to all my friend. How are you today?? Hmmm..... Today i would like to talk about traditional food. In Terengganu it has more traditional food and the famous one is nasi dagang. All the foreign tourism must try this food when come to Terengganu. 
                     
                      Nasi dagang was make by a rice that call a "beras pulut" and it was mixed with some coconut oil or we call a "santan". The best nasi dagang in Terengganu is located at Chendering. Usually, it was eat at the evening or breakfast. There's another one famous food in Terengganu which is called ''keropok lekor''. This also famous in Malaysia and everyone will like it. Keropok lekor was make by mixed fish and "kanji"and boiled it up. Usually, it was eat at the evening with "mee goreng". Keropok lekor also can be fried or boiled. If you are coming to Terengganu, don't forget to try nasi dagang and keropok lekor because it is the famous and best traditional food in Terengganu.

This is we called ''keropok lekor''. Very tasty and delicious.


                       Another famous foods are satar and 'otak-otak'. Satar is make by fish and coconut. As you can see most of the traditional foods in Terengganu used fish as the major ingredients. The grilled satar which is selling for only RM2 per stick with four packets. Inside, there is most flavourful and fragrant packet of fish paste mixed with onion, ginger and cut red chilliesOtak-otak also make by fish but have different taste with satar because otak-otak have their own special sauce. Satar is grilled fish in banana leaf and otak-otak was wrapped with coconut leaf. You will not find both of this at another place because this is only have in Terengganu. So, what you waiting for ??? Let's visit Terengganu! You will have a new experience and try the traditional foods there!

ISLAND IN TERENGGANU

Terengganu is a one state that have many beautiful islands. Many tourist come to Terengganu to spend their travelling at the islands such as Redang Island, Perhentian Island, Kapas & Gemia Island and Tenggol Island.


1. Redang Island known as The Emerald Island in Malaysia 

Situated 50 km off the coast, Redang Island is the most developed in Terengganu. The beaches, washed by the warm waters of the South China Sea is the nature's wonder: a wonderful alchemy of fine powdery white and gold sand, magnificently wide, often times sloping gradually into the sea. Crystal clear water and vibrant underwater world invite enthusiasts to enjoy the colourful, mature coral gardens and several shipwreckeds. With the vastness of the sea, cool breezes and breathtaking sunsets, the island is nothing short of a tropical paradise.













2. Perhentian Island is One of The Most Beautiful Island in The World

A trip to these lush and exotic tropical twin islands is a must for all nature lovers and those who enjoy scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, wind surfing, sailing, boating and canoeing. Surrounded by white sandy beaches, warm sapphire blue waters and colourful coral garden, Perhentian Island is renowned as one of Malaysia's marine paradise and is a part of the National Marine Park of Malaysia. For the passive, do enjoy watching turtles lay eggs or feeding the vibrant coloured fish or just sitting back and enjoy the sun and breeze at the Three Coves Bay. Perhentian Island is reachable from Kuala Besut Tourist Jetty and the 21 km journey by speedboat takes 1.5 hours.


























3. Kapas & Gemia Island as a Pretty Little Island with Candat Sotong Activities

Kapas and Gemia Islands are two small islands separated by a narrow strait off the coast of Marang District. Only 6km away, it takes 10 minutes by speedboat to reach the island. Known specifically for squid fishing, guests can while away the time pulling in squids using nylon lines in lighted boats at night. As part of the Marine Park, guests can enjoy the dazzling marine life and superb coral formations. Sea eagles, reef herons, tern and the endangered giant leatherback turtles come to rest on the islands every year. The rugged hill terrain invited the adventurous to test their rock-climbing skills or just watching the birds.













4. Tenggol Island is The Best Diving Site in Peninsular Malaysia

Off the coast of Dungun, Pulau Tenggol is the furthest among the islands in Terengganu. A speedboat ride from Kuala Dungun jetty takes almost an hour. The well sheltered bay at Pulau Tenggol is home to intact and mature coral gardens, making it a delight for coral lovers. Divers looking for excitement would find the water a challenge because it descends to 20 meters deep at some places. Shy Garden Eels, crabs, turtles and sharks frequent the island.
